Sentient is an open AGI project based in San Francisco, aiming to decentralize AI development and allow the community to create, own, and control AI models.
Key components:
The GRID: a decentralized network of AI models and agents operating as a unified system.
Sentient Chat: an interface for interacting with the GRID, featuring modular agents and decentralized governance.
ROMA: a framework for building multi-agent systems by recursively breaking down tasks.
Dobby: the world’s first fingerprinted AI model with community co-ownership.
Fingerprinting: a library for securely verifying provenance and ownership of models.
What is Sentient Chat?
It’s an interface for interacting with the GRID – a decentralized network of modular AI agents. You can test existing agents, create your own, and participate in the development of open AGI.
How to get started: Go to chat.sentient.xyz
Choose an existing agent or create a new one.
Enter a request or task, for example: “Help me create a Web3 post plan.”
Evaluate the response and refine it if needed.
Leave feedback for the project team – it is always read!
Why it’s useful:
Learn how decentralized AI agents work.
Gain experience creating and configuring your own agents.
Participate in the Sentient community by testing and improving models.
Check out the blog blog.sentient.xyz for guides, updates, and ideas on interacting with the GRID.
Test the AI and also include your results in your portfolio — this will be a great plus for you when applying for roles.
More about the roles in the next section!
Artist — a user who creates art or videos related to Sentient across various social media platforms.
▫️ Builder — a user who develops projects based on Sentient’s code.
▫️ Educator — a content creator on Twitter; special posting conditions are provided in the #educator-announcements channel.
▫️ Helper — the most unusual role, though the simplest: you need to be active in the chat and help other users. However, advanced helpers are rare, so it’s usually recommended to skip this role.
After reaching Level 3 in any track, users can apply for higher roles — Early AGI, then Advanced AGI, and finally Sentient AGI.
In addition to the main tasks, participants should engage in various activities that can be added to their portfolio, such as Discord events (https://discord.gg/sentientfoundation), Galxe tasks (https://app.galxe.com/quest/5pH5qUCoxjtXdLh2XMpRKT), commenting on Twitter posts, and more.
To apply, go to the #claim-contributor-roles channel, find the message, follow the link to the desired role, and submit your application according to the example. Applications are accepted until 7:00 PM every Thursday.
AGI Role Level Ups
When a user actively contributes to the community and feels their role in a track (such as Artist, Builder, Educator, or Helper) deserves an upgrade, they can submit a review request using a special form.
All requests are first reviewed by the manager of the corresponding track, and then the Community Manager makes the final decision.
Weekly Timeline
Requests are accepted until Thursday at 6:00 PM. After that, the managers review submissions and roles are assigned on Friday.
Contribution Track Managers
If users have questions about AGI roles or their application, they can reach out to their regional moderator or the manager of their track.
Track Managers:
Artist: @hieunguyenhtx and @SmoothAF
Builder: @xabz
Educator: @RANA and @Viki
Helper: @Shadowshivgami
AGI Roles Templates
To submit an AGI role request, users should use the Notion templates for each role:
After opening the template, duplicate the page, fill in your details, publish it, and share the link via the form.
It’s important to include both your contribution track and the role you’re requesting, for example: “Advanced AGI for Builder.” If you only list the role, the request may not be reviewed.
